Teacher expertise and credentials
Missouri Teaching Certificate
Master's Degree from Capella University
Hello! My name is Ms. Kristi. I live in Missouri with my husband and three boys. I have a masters degree in early childhood education and bachelor degrees in early childhood and special education. I am Missouri state certified and I am also TEFL-TESOL certified for ESL/EFL. I have over 10 years classroom teaching experience and I've been an online teacher for the past 8 years. I homeschool my own children (junior, freshman, and pre-k), also. I enjoy teaching children of all ages, but my specialty is with younger kids. I love to see the spark that little kids get whenever they learn something new. They are such eager learners! It is my goal to make classes fun and educational and to always make my students happy and feel special!
Please reach out with any questions you may have and make sure to follow my profile for any upcoming classes.
I hope you will come and see me in the classroom!
- Ms. Kristi ☺️

CLASS EXPECTATIONS
It is my goal to encourage participation from all learners in my classes. I prefer to leave learners unmuted. However, there may be times when learners need to be muted (background noise, encourage turn taking). I will let the student know when they can unmute their microphone again. Waiting for your turn and giving others a chance to share their ideas and thoughts can be hard for young learners. Each child will have the opportunity to share something at the beginning of class, but I will use the mute feature, along with verbal and visual cues to remind children to be respectful of other's time to speak and share.
I will begin class at the scheduled time, even if all learners are not in the classroom. Absent learners will be contacted after the class has concluded. Please be aware that during class time, I will not be available to answer questions and messages, this time is dedicated to the learners attending class.
Outschool policy - if there are no learners in the classroom, I will wait 10 minutes before exiting the classroom. In this situation, I will contact the families after I have left the classroom.

SIBLINGS
Outschool policy - all attendees must be enrolled in the class. If you have more than one learner, they must be enrolled in the class. Enrolled siblings are always welcome to share a screen during class.

REFUNDS & TRANSFERS:
Outschool's limited refund policy: "Full refund within 24 hours of purchase or up to a week in advance of the class."
If within the week, you realize you will not be able to make class, please submit a transfer request from the classroom at least 24 hours in advance. This ensures another student has enough time to see the opening and enroll. A transfer can only occur if I have multiple sessions open for a class.
If contacted after class, I cannot refund or transfer. I do understand personal/family emergencies come up and will do my best to support you if I am contacted before class. If your learner is withdrawn by the parent within the non-refundable period, I am unable to transfer you.
Please test Zoom, camera, and microphone/speaker settings before class. It is my responsibility to be fully present to the children attending class and I will not be able to address tech issues. As stated before, I do not access my conversations or classroom comments during class time.

RECORDINGS:
Recordings are not automatically shown in the classroom. If you would like access to the class recording or have missed class, feel free to message me so I can make it available to you. Teachers don't get notifications if recordings are requested from the classroom tab, so messaging me is best.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS:
If a class has not met the minimum number of enrollments, it is subject to being canceled. I will send a message asking if you'd like a transfer to another date & time or full refund if the class is canceled. Automatic refunds are issued for no responses after original class start time.
