Let's Talk.....Without Fillers

In this ongoing class students will have the opportunity to practice impromptu speaking.  Each class will have a different exciting topic that each participant will be asked to speak about for 1 to 3 minutes.  The students will be given feedback that will assist them in organizing their thoughts quickly in an effort to respond intelligently to any topic within seconds.  In addition to gathering their thoughts, students will also learn how to respond without using filler words like um, and, so, etc.

Class Structure
• Students will be asked to introduce themselves at the beginning of every class as a warm exercise (each class will have a different introduction prompt, ex: describe your day in 2 complete sentences).
• As a group, students will be reminded of the tips and tricks to impromptu speaking.
• Finally, a random topic will be given to each student to speak about for a minimum of 1 minute and a maximum of 3 minutes.  While the student is speaking the other students in the class are evaluating the speaker to provide immediate feedback.
