Class Experience

Class Experience
This fun and interactive 12-week class is created for students who have already finished Course 1 for Beginners or students with beginner experience (must have knowledge of colors, numbers to 20, family members, school items, body parts) Students must also be able to introduce themselves in German with name, age, grade, siblings, pets and favorite activities. 
During this course your student will explore the following themes in German.

Student will work toward their proficiency of the A1 Level

I am a certified German Teacher (K-12) in the state of Texas and a native speaker. I believe in semi-total immersion, which means as the course progresses the instructional language becomes more and more German. 
I love sharing the gift of language with children and believe that a language acquisition course must be both interactive and engaging. Students will have a variety of speaking opportunities in my class, to not only improve conversational abilities but also boost self-confidence. I grew up in former East Germany close to the city of Dresden. I am currently finishing my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taught German for over 10 years for various ages both online and face-to-face.
This course is for intermediate beginners and requires the knowledge described in the course description.

Homework assignments are optional but recommended: 
Students will have homework assignments in various forms: 
Writing or Project assignment (posters, crafts, etc) 
Workbook Beste Freunde

Student will need the following item for class.
Beste Freunde Workbook (if not purchased during 1st course)
Pencils 
Dedicated German Notebook

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Kahoot
Quizlet

Frequent formal and informal assessments are given by using different quizzes and assignments.

55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.

All platforms and sources used do not require the creation of a username and are age-appropriate. 

Kahoot! and Quizlet will be used during instruction via screen sharing only. Student do not need to create an account. Content will be age -appropriate.
