Class Experience
This fun and interactive ongoing class has monthly themes. Students practice talking, reading and writing about each topic. It is a great opportunity for intermediate speakers ( at least 2 years experience) to gain more confidence in these competencies. Language of instruction will be German, following the total immersion model. Occasional translation can be provided. I am a certified German Teacher (K-12) in the state of Texas and a native speaker. I believe in semi-total immersion, which means as the course progresses the instructional language becomes more and more German. I love sharing the gift of language with children and believe that a language acquisition course must be both interactive and engaging. Students will have a variety of speaking opportunities in my class, to not only improve conversational abilities, but to also boost self-confidence. I grew up in the former East Germany close to the city of Dresden. I am currently finishing my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. I have taught German for over 10 years for various ages both online and face-to face.
