Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 10
Students will learn about various aspects of paleontology, from individual paleontologists, how to dig for fossils, sharing fossils or prehistoric animals.
The topics covered will be the historical aspects of paleontology, digging techniques, sites to dig, various prehistoric animals and virtual museum tours.
My class will be structured in a discussion based format based on the subject of the week, giving the students the choice of topic for the day.
I will be teaching using a mixture of video clips, slides and lectures.
My teaching style can be described as interactive.
Learners will get to interact with me via discussion, slides and video clips
No required knowledge or experience needed. Just a love of prehistory
Learning Goals
Students will learn about the different aspects of paleontology, not just dinosaurs. They can learn how to dig for fossils, how fossils are dated, some classes will be on what places to dig for fossils and what you can commonly find there.

I studied paleontology at the university of Alberta. I worked in the education department of the deep time hall at the Smithsonian Natural History museum. I have been on several dinosaur digs and have found fossils of my own.
