Let's Talk German - Conversation & Culture Level 4 (Age 8-12)

This small size class is meant for students that would like to improve their comprehension and communication skills and who completed Level 3 or are at an advanced level. The course, taught by a native speaker, will focus on strengthening the self-confidence of the student to communicate which is vital in becoming eloquent German communicators. We will also strengthen the students’ reading and writing skills. Lastly, the class will dive into German literature according to age level.  

Emphasis in Level 4 is building up confidence in speaking German. I seek to take any fear of speaking German and during class assess each student of this small class regarding his or her particular weak points in speaking German. I then target the areas by specific grammar lessons and exercises that are all student centered and based on the student's interests. We also practice  discussion skills to prepare students for Level 4.

I will have an arrange of material that can be covered, yet this class will be tailored afresh with each new class and student composition according to the specific students' interests. For conversation classes I like to keep the schedule somewhat flexible in order to accommodate the students strengths, passions and interests and in order to take any fear of speaking and build on the students' interests. Students will gain confidence and have fun holding short speeches and summaries of events. We will learn from each other. This is a fun class that focuses on conversation skills but we will also dive into reading some interesting books/texts and learn new cultural facts!
