Class Experience
In this very interactive course, students will develop their communication skills with their peers, families, and teachers. Students will participate in small groups, pairs, and do weekly reflections about their personal communication skills. Learners are encouraged to take what they've learned each week and apply it to their...
As a current behavioral advisor for kids and teens, I have taught in-depth courses on communicating and effectively. When I served as a Clinical program director for a residential treatment facility I was tasked with creating a rolling curriculum on subjects such as effective communication, regulating moods, and many other courses, workshops, and exercises. These courses are a combination of making the students comfortable enough to receive the information, allowing them a safe space to express their difficulties, and presenting them with alternative ways that will better serve them as they traverse adolescence.
Each week students will be given a specific challenge and assignment
The teacher will provide: handouts worksheets Students will need: notebook writing materials access to the internet to research their debate topic space to talk loudly and clearly a space to work quietly as they reflect at the end of each class
1 hour 5 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
