Have you ever wondered why sea otters hold hands? Or maybe you wondered why some sea otters have a favorite rock? If so, then this class is for you! In this one time class, we explore the watery world of the sea otter. We will learn about the life style, behaviors, and importance of the sea otter to the ecosystem. This class will be presented using a combination of techniques, such as lecture, discussion, images/video clips, and games. Learners will be able to ask questions and share their knowledge of sea otters throughout the class. If you'd rather sit back and just listen, then that's fine too. No prior knowledge of sea otters is required...just a desire to learn more about these furry creatures.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there!
My name is Kathy and I have been a certified science teacher the last 20 years! My favorite classes to teach are any that have to do with the ocean, and its inhabitants. I have a degree in Marine Biology, am a certified SCUBA diver, have taught aquatic summer camps at a local aquarium, and have volunteered for multiple aquariums and rescue groups.
I also love to craft...in particular, to create things with my Cricut. I also have a degree in Fashion Design and love to sew. I look forward to adding classes that focus on each of these passions.
As a teacher, I often notice students lacking the technology skills needed to be successful in the classroom. I will also offer classes on how to use programs such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and a variety of other applications often used.
I really look forward to meeting you!
