Have you know ever wondered what color a polar bear's fur really is? Or have you wondered how far polar bears can swim? If so, then this class is for you! In this one time class, we will explore the life of a polar bear and learn what makes these animals the top predators in the Arctic. This class will be presented using a combination of techniques, such as lecture, discussion, images/video clips, and games. Learners will be able to ask questions and share their knowledge of polar bears throughout the class. If your learner would rather sit back and listen, then that's fine too. I will be using Nearpod to present the lesson, so your learner may need assistance to log into the website prior to class beginning. Log in information will be posted to the classroom prior to the start of class. No prior knowledge of polar bears is required...just a curiosity of what makes the polar bears such successful predators.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there!
My name is Kathy and I have been a certified science teacher the last 20 years! My favorite classes to teach are any that have to do with the ocean, and its inhabitants. I have a degree in Marine Biology, am a certified SCUBA diver, have taught aquatic summer camps at a local aquarium, and have volunteered for multiple aquariums and rescue groups.
I also love to craft...in particular, to create things with my Cricut. I also have a degree in Fashion Design and love to sew. I look forward to adding classes that focus on each of these passions.
As a teacher, I often notice students lacking the technology skills needed to be successful in the classroom. I will also offer classes on how to use programs such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and a variety of other applications often used.
I really look forward to meeting you!
