Have you ever wondered why dolphins "smile"? Do you wonder why dolphins swim in the wake of a boat? If so, then this class is for you! In this one-time class, we will explore the fascinating world of dolphins. We will learn about their lives and the adaptations that help them survive. We will discuss their behaviors and explore why everyone loves these intelligent creatures. This class will be presented using a combination of techniques, such as lecture, discussion, images/video clips, and games. Learners will be able to ask questions and share their knowledge of dolphins throughout the class. If you'd rather sit back and just listen, then that's fine too. Learners may need assistance to log into Nearpod at the start of class. Nearpod converts the presentation into a more interactive lesson. Log in information will be posted to the classroom prior to class beginning. No prior knowledge of dolphins is required...just a curiosity of these magnificent animals. **Important to note: Although the class is listed as an hour long class, it may go over by a few minutes based on student interest.

Hello there!
My name is Kathy and I have been a certified science teacher the last 20 years! My favorite classes to teach are any that have to do with the ocean, and its inhabitants. I have a degree in Marine Biology, am a certified SCUBA diver, have taught aquatic summer camps at a local aquarium, and have volunteered for multiple aquariums and rescue groups.
I also love to craft...in particular, to create things with my Cricut. I also have a degree in Fashion Design and love to sew. I look forward to adding classes that focus on each of these passions.
As a teacher, I often notice students lacking the technology skills needed to be successful in the classroom. I will also offer classes on how to use programs such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and a variety of other applications often used.
