In this ongoing class, we will learn and talk about different breeds of dogs. Each class will begin with the introduction of a dog breed. Students will learn about the history of the breed, special ways each breed needs to be cared for, and what makes this breed unique. Learners are encouraged to chime in when they have extra details to add to the information being shared. Students will be encouraged to participate in the conversation by taking turns, providing feedback to other student's ideas, and staying on the topic of learning. Prior to class students will be notified of which dog we will be talking about that week. Students are encouraged to create a fun fact about this breed to share with the class. Examples of dog breeds we will learn about: Poodles Labradors Pugs Golden Retrievers Shih Tzus Bulldogs German Shepherds Cocker Spaniels Rottweilers Students will also be encouraged to suggest dog breeds for future classes. This is a pet-friendly class. If your child would like to bring their pet to class we will reserve the last couple minutes of class to say hi to everyone's pet.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am an avid dog lover. My family has always had a dog as a member of our family. When I was young we had a Papillon, then we added a Collie. As an adult with mild dog allergies, I've grown to adore Bichons and Poodles. We currently have a PooChon named Lilly who is the light of my life. I can't wait to share my love of dogs with your child.
