Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
In this one time class we will be discussing all the fun and fascinating facts about owls. We will identify the parts of an owl, such as "wings, eyes, ears, feathers, tail, claws, beak, and toes." We will also view some real pictures of the different types of owls found all over the world. Afterwards, the learners and I will follow a few simple steps to create our own owls! The learners will be asked to share their owl pictures, if they would like to. The learners will have many opportunities to ask questions, share their opinions and knowledge with each other. The class will end with a fun Owl poem.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been teaching for the last 27 years in a variety of settings. I have worked with children 3 to 12 years of age. I have created curriculum for 3-6 year old's, tutored, been a nanny, an assistant director, assistant teacher for early learners in the school district, and taught English (ESL) online. I have a BA in Early Childhood Education and a BA in Psychology. I love to find creative ways for children to learn and have fun! I believe children learn best through a variety of means including: repetition, writing, movement, creativity, socialization, fun, and a positive attitude. If I do not know the answer to a child's question, I will research it and let them know. Knowledge is a powerful tool that can create a spark for future learning and life adventures. I can not wait to have fun teaching and learning from your little ones! See you in the classroom!
