This class is interactive using the Nearpod website or app. In this lesson, students will learn about some of the history, events, traditions, favorite foods and lifestyle of Italians. We will also explore some of the geography of the land. We will focus on Rome, Venice, Pisa and Verona. Students will be engaged in a slide presentation which includes 3-D Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Roman Colosseum. Students are able to interact and manipulate the figures on screen. A video clip of a tour of Rome, the Colosseum and the Forum is included. We will also see a video clip of Romeo & Juliet (fair warning- there is a kiss involved), and a video clip of Venice and Carnevale. Interactive polls and a Climb the Mountain game is included at the end of the lesson to assess learning.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to identify and discuss landmarks, history, and events in Italy.
