Class Experience

Each week we will discuss a new subject while learning new words in Brazilian Portuguese. This is a conversational class but not a full immersion class. Both English and Portuguese will be spoken throughout. Students will be given a post class activity after class and will be encouraged continue to practice to retain the information. This is a great class which will give young minds the skill and confidence to begin speaking Brazllian Portuguese. Students will leave class each day smiling and having gained the courage to speak confidently while better able to recognize new words in Brazilian Portuguese as we discussed and practiced in class.

This class will be conducted in English, it is not an immersion class. We will learn about one subject each day and include a few words in Brazilian Portuguese per week and practice it throughout class. During class, we will practice pronunciation taking turns and working on how to appropriately remember the words in a different language.

Each week, your student will leave this course with exposure to the beginnings of Brazilian Portuguese,

There will always be a post lesson activity sent home, whether a color sheet or other hands on activity to keep the learning process growing and expanding.

I am so excited to have a great time with all of the students!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I was born in Brazil and raised in a Brazilian household. My first language is Portuguese and I have studied Spanish from a very young age. As my own children grow up, I try to teach them English, Spanish and Portuguese, one word at a time as I will do in this class.

I have been teaching children for over 20 years and have a degree in Dance and English. We will move and learn while having fun! My performing credits include Touring the World with Broadway’s Evita, Sesame Street Live, and performing in Disney World Theme Parks as well as regional theatres for children and adults alike. It is extra fun to take class from the real life Pinkalicious, Little Red Riding Hood and Dorothy!

I look forward to meeting your student and learning through play.
