MINASAN, KONNICHIWA! Ever wanted to learn a second language? Well, now is your chance. Come join Mrs. Graves for a journey through the Japanese language and culture. By the end of this course, you will be able to write your own name, counting in Japanese, introduce yourself, asking simple questions and express preferences in my native language, Japanese. You will also explore traditional Japanese culture, sing some songs in Japanese and visit popular sightseeing destinations online. Learn NIHONGO and have fun together!

Class experience

Students will learn the fundamentals of conversational Japanese language, which include:
*Introducing yourself/greetings including the country of origin, family structure, age, etc.
*Making new friends
*Asking simple questions about an object and a person.
*Expressing preferences.
*Ordering and purchasing.
*Asking for directions.
Students will also explore Japanese cultures and customs: national holidays, tea ceremony, school experience, etc.
In addition, students will learn to write their name in Japanese and learn Hiragana symbols.
As a cumulative assignment, students will conduct a research on their favorite city/town/district and present before their peers.
