Madame Colleen is a bilingual teacher with over 25 years experience helping young learners gain confidence with a new language. Her teaching style is patient and enthusiastic, with lots of commendation. Her patient, calm, and encouraging teaching style helps children who are new to foreign language learning feel confident and at ease. A basic understanding of French, or having taken Let's Speak French 1 is required in order to succeed in this class. Each week learners will practice reading, writing, and speaking French. We will go slowly and make sure each concept is grasped. The small class size of each session ensures individual attention for each learner. Vocabulary and grammar concepts will be presented at the beginning of each class. Learners will have an opportunity to use these during games, and conversations during the rest of the class time. Ms. Colleen loves to incorporate songs and humor into her classes to help her learners remember and use what they learn. Printed materials and/or online games will be provided each week to help reinforce what is learned in class. This is not a French Immersion class. Bachelor's Degree in Education from Mount Saint Vincent University
Hi, I'm Ms. Colleen.
I'm an Early Childhood Educator and home educating parent. I have my degree in Child Study from Mount Saint Vincent University and I have been teaching for 28 years. I am also a certified EFL (English as a Foreign Language) instructor. I speak both English and French. In 2020 I discovered my love of teaching online. I guess every cloud really does have a silver lining! My family and I live in beautiful Atlantic Canada. I'm excited to share fun and interactive learning activities with your children! Teaching is truly my passion and that shines through in my lessons. My teaching style is calm, patient, and warm. I believe that childhood is a journey, not a race. I love to learn new things and I try to instill a love of learning through my lessons. I love to laugh. I like to incorporate singing into my lessons because I believe it helps learners relax and absorb information, especially when learning a new language. I hope to see you soon in one of my classes!
