Beginner Level
In the latest ongoing class in the "Let's Speak French" series, learners will count to 100, skip count, tell time, and use numbers and shapes in conversations. Each week students will count and learn to use number sense in French. We will go slowly and make sure each concept is grasped. The small class size of each session ensures individual attention for each learner. Mme. Colleen loves to incorporate songs and humor into her classes to help her learners remember and use what they learn. New number concepts will be presented at the beginning of each class following a brief review of the previous lesson. Learners will have an opportunity to use new skills and words as we play games, solve problems and have conversations during the rest of the class time. Printed materials and/or online games will be provided each week before and after class to help reinforce what is learned in each lesson. This is not a French Immersion class. Hi, I'm Ms. Colleen.
I'm an Early Childhood Educator and home educating parent. I have my degree in Child Study from Mount Saint Vincent University and I have been teaching for 28 years. I am also a certified EFL (English as a Foreign Language) instructor. I speak both English and French. In 2020 I discovered my love of teaching online. I guess every cloud really does have a silver lining! My family and I live in beautiful Atlantic Canada. I'm excited to share fun and interactive learning activities with your children! Teaching is truly my passion and that shines through in my lessons. My teaching style is calm, patient, and warm. I believe that childhood is a journey, not a race. I love to learn new things and I try to instill a love of learning through my lessons. I love to laugh. I like to incorporate singing into my lessons because I believe it helps learners relax and absorb information, especially when learning a new language. I hope to see you soon in one of my classes!
