Class Experience

Beginner Level
After a brief introduction, engaging slides containing visuals will the focal point for identifying and expressing English vocabulary.  Curiosity and conversation will be encouraged and cultivated.  Along the way greeting, country and vehicle English vocabulary will be incorporated into the lesson.  A fun, cartoon style Gimkit game will be used at the end to recap the major vocabulary that was part of the lesson.  Flexibility will be a key part of the lesson so that student curiosty and interest can be relied upon to determine the emphasis placed on parts of the session.

Parental Guidance
The child friendly lesson will include engaging slides for discussion and conversation plus the Gimkit site for a game. Content includes words for greeting another person, the names of some countries and a few vehicle names. At one point, students will need to open a second browser or scan a QR code to access the game.

Having taught in various Maryland public school settings for close to twenty-eight years, I also gained insight into the learning process through employment with the educational departments of the Baltimore Museum of Industry and Richmond's Valentine museum.  In addition to earning a BA degree in History from Susquehanna University, I have an MA from the University of Richmond and even completed an additional "plus thirty" set of course work credits in educational theory.
