In each of these 'Let's Sketch Science' mini lessons, we will be introduced to a science concept, as we learn how to sketch something familiar, yet unique and interesting.
Class experience
I will share some basic science concepts with your child in reference to reflection and refraction, as light travels through a water droplet. This explanation will help your child to see water in a more appreciative way and understand the abilities of light, including the creation of a rainbow from such refraction. We will apply our learned art skills, as we then sketch some water droplets and add these qualities and realistic details to show water in dimension and form. My hope is that...
This class is taught in English.
Students will learn science concepts behind even the most ordinary encounters that we share in our life experiences. This mini lesson will focus on the water droplet and how light acts as it enters and exits these droplets. We will explore terms of reflection and refraction , among a quick study to include how a rainbow is formed. Sketching skills will be introduced and implemented to bring in our arts to express what we see in nature and organic form around us.
For class time, please have with you the following: pencil(s) of choice, a sharpener, paper, eraser, white gel pen (or white-out liquid/white paint) Additional supplies to help reinforce learning if available; either a waterproof piece of paper, such as parchment paper, or a plate, and a tiny cup of water. If you have any medicine type syringe or dropper, this would be wonderful as well!
