Whether you consider yourself a great singer or a bad singer - this class is for you! In this class we will listen to and sing the lyrics from some Disney movies greatest hits. I will share the lyrics on a screen and teach some hand movements to go with the songs. Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a teaching credential(K-8) and a Ph.D. in the area of literacy, language, society, and culture from U.C. Berkeley. My areas of research are culturally responsive teaching, multicultural education, teaching Black history, literacy development, teaching diverse learners, and arts-integrated education.
I have taught writing to youth for over 25 years. I currently also teach college writing and facilitate writing workshops for elementary and middle school students. Reader’s theater is a literacy strategy and performative tool I have implemented in all my classes (K-college). I have years of experience writing and directing plays in my classroom and facilitating community reader’s theater at the library for kids. I have been part of children’s musical theater groups and theater courses (Improvisation for Teachers) at the college level.
