Description

Class Experience

During this one-time class, students will engage in shared reading together. I will share four to five books (depending on time) at various reading levels appropriate for most children aged 5-7 (F&P Levels B, C, and D). We'll talk about each book briefly before and after and then read them TOGETHER, talking about letters, sounds, digraphs, blends, punctuation, and any other skills and strategies to help us while we read. We'll talk about word solving and comprehension and practice retelling...

Students will practice reading fluency, with a focus on phonics and phonemic awareness. Students will practice retelling.

Nothing is required.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
