Each week we will read a new "Amelia Bedelia" book by Herman Parish and talk about the different parts we like. I share the books on my screen so everyone can see the pictures and comment on all of the things that we notice. I encourage the students to make predictions about what will happen next and share their thoughts on the story. I will explain the idioms and expressions in context while I read the book. Students will be exposed to new vocabulary words and develop a love of reading by listening to these engaging and silly stories. Amelia Bedelia is a classic character that students love! I take a break from the story often to ask questions and check for comprehension. Students get a chance to share their comments and ideas about the story. At the end we will play a short interactive game related to the book topic. No need to read or prepare for the class ahead of time. Just come ready for an adventure! Students vote on which book to read for the following week so I don't have a list right now, but if you would like to know, just message me and I can tell you the book chosen for this particular week. November and December choices: Amelia Bedelia Sleeps Over Amelia Bedelia Makes a Friend Amelia Bedelia Steps Out Amelia Bedelia Takes the Cake Amelia Bedelia Under the Weather This class is best suited for CEFR level B1-B2 or higher, but all are welcome! I am a positive and high-energy teacher who makes sure everyone is included. I can't wait to see your student in my classroom!
