Intermediate Level
This class will teach listening and comprehension skills and encourage a love of books. The topics covered will be age appropriate books that will entertain but also allow for discussion and questions about the book. My class is fun but structured. We will be able to ask and answer questions, but students must pay attention and learn to take turns. I will teach by reading and stopping throughout the book to ask questions about the characters, plot, setting, what the students think might happen. My style is relaxed and entertaining. I like to give the characters silly voices and attitudes. The students can interact by reading, if they chose to, asking and answering questions, and giving their thoughts and opinions on the book. There is no required experience or knowledge needed.
Learning Goals
The students will learn the concepts of characters, plot, and setting, as well as listening skills and being able to explain their opinions and ideas on the book.

There is no content that would be considered scary or upsetting to learners.

I will share the book we will read during the lesson.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I have been teaching students for almost 15 years. I also have my TEFL level 5 certificate and tutor students in ESL. I work one on one or in group settings with students. I want to develop a love of reading in early childhood, because I feel if children start reading early they will develop into life-long readers.
