This is a highly adventurous book about a young boy who finds himself aboard a pirate ship in search of lost treasure with some of the most colorful characters in literature. Learners will read and understand Treasure Island. Learners will practice having a literary discussion with their peers.
Homework Offered
Learners will be responsible for completing assigned reading each week. They will need to come to class prepared to discuss the material.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Learners will be informally assessed based on their participation in class discussion and performance on class trivia games. Although a letter grade will not be provided, parents or learners may request a certificate of completion at the end of the course.Grades Offered

As with all literature, it is recommended that parents preview Treasure Island before class. Not all books are equally suited for all learners and families. Specifically, this book does include several fight scenes and the mention of alcohol.
