Class Experience

Hello kids!

Do your kids enjoy stories? I will read to them the classic tale of "Jack and the Beanstalk". I encourage them to ask questions and to interact by hearing the sounds I create to interpret characters i.e. the giant.

This will largely be a class with an interactive soundscape meant to bring laughter rather than teach lots of knowledge. I will have prerecorded sounds such as the hen that lays the golden egg and interject them where appropriate for laughs. Overall this class is meant to encourage discussion and develop cognition while having fun listening.

Learning Goals

Students will develop listening skills and cognitive abilities such as storing information and associating sounds with pictures during storytime.

Greetings friends!

My name is Brandon and I am a fun engaging guitarist and singer who has played for twenty two years. I have traveled around the world performing and entertaining for the past ten years. I am also a fun and engaging teacher and naturalist. I plan to teach guitar lessons and globetrotting geography, traveler type courses where the student can virtually visit parts of the earth with me as we discover earth science together.

My five year educational background inclusive of nature courses from Walla Walla College and University of Montana have yielded the opportunity to have lead many science -oriented nature walks in national parks as a park ranger. Subjects included mountain, rainforest and tide pool ecology. I have also conducted programs as a camp counselor naturalist in a wildlife society which included the topics of aquatic and marine life as well as terrestrial biology.

My musical background stems from listening to music from the 50s, 60s and 70s especially. Being immersed in Hawaiian traditional music since I was born has also shaped my musical drive. I bring the spirit of "Aloha" while singing and playing guitar performing a massive repertoire of music ranging from folk, ragtime, blues and rock n roll to singing in Hawaiian. I often play guitar accompanied by singing in Spanish in a host of Mexican restaurants and enjoy interacting and entertaining in Spanish through my interactions with my guests.
