In this ongoing book club, learners will read and discuss one of the Cat Kid by Dav Pilkey series each week developing their comprehension, vocabulary, spelling and much more! Come and discover the adventures of Cat Kid together! Week of 2/9/24 - Friendship Week of 9/9/24 - Tolerance Week of 16/9/24 - Triumph Week of 23/9/24 - Being Kind-Hearted Week of 30/9/24 - The Joy of Sharing Week of 7/10/24 - Being Good Learners Week of 14/10/24 - Making Mistakes Week of 21/10/24 - Keeping Promises Week of 28/10/24 - Feelings and Emotions Week of 4/11/24 - Hope Week of 11/11/24 - Persistence Learners can join the class at any point. This is an ongoing course so each class stands alone. We focus on a different theme from the books each week whilst developing comprehension skills, grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing. Learners can join the class no matter how much of the series they have read. Each week will include a range of teaching activities including reading out loud, videos, discussions, activity sheets, Q+A, slides and more. Parental Guidance
Please note, this is an English language class. This is not a 'read along' class. Our own teaching materials are used to teach learners during this course. The focus of the classes is to develop language including, phonics, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension, fluency and writing skills.
Supply List
Learners will need a notebook, pencil and crayons for each class. The books are required for this class. Students may use e-books, hardcopy and paperbacks, or audiobooks to read and comprehend the text.
