Beginner Level
Reading is fundamental to academic success and reading novels will introduce your child to a world beyond textbooks. Reading novels helps expand our knowledge, imagination, critical thinking, vocabulary and so much more. Want to give this class a try? Use code LEARNIPFJG3 to save $3 today! *** This class meets bi-monthly. When you join, please reach out to me so I canprovide the chapters needed to be read for the next class. Reading is essential for school and life. As teachers and avid readers, we know how important it is to enjoy what you read. However, it is also good to explore new types of literature and a book club allows for exposure to different genres. If you have an avid or reluctant reader, this class is a great place for them. In this ongoing online book club, students will read and discuss different types of literature. Although reading and book discussion is the focus of the class, the questions for discussion will enhance a student's reading comprehension and critical thinking skills. (Details, character traits, vocabulary, and more) The class is teacher-directed but student-centered. We love reading and encouraging the same love in students is our goal. We have picked books that we believe will be interesting and appropriate for this age group. However, we would like you to please research each book on your own so you are comfortable with the content of each book. Common Sense Media gives honest parent reviews with a rating system. It is your role to make sure that the books are appropriate for your child as each child is different. If your child has enrolled in the class, this is your agreement that you approve of the chosen books. We are big users of our libraries, but we also know that using an e-reader or ordering on Amazon can often make our lives easier. We have included the Amazon link. These are affiliate links and are completely optional. If you use them, We earn a small commission which helps us buy more books for our classes.
