Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner - Intermediate Level
Does your student love to read or would you like them to read more? We know that reading is crucial to success in school. We help students fall in love with reading and create lifelong readers. Check out the class video for a snippet of the class!

THIS IS NOT YOUR ORDINARY BOOK CLUB! We read together in class to practice our reading fluency and listening skills. However, student reading does not stop there, this class also helps foster independent reading. Each week students will have assigned at-home reading to complete. Want to give the class a try? Here is a $3 off coupon code - LEARNIPFJG3.

* Students do need a copy of the book or Kindle edition for this class.

A reading book club is a great opportunity for students to strengthen their reading comprehension, discover a variety of literary genres, gain exposure to new vocabulary, increase critical thinking skills, infer information, make personal connections, practice reading fluency, learn how to discuss what they are reading and so much more. Students will be provided a "Building Vocabulary Through Reading" worksheet to use while reading the book, and a" Chapter Notes" worksheet.

The books chosen for this class are mostly on a 4th-grade reading level. To ensure the book is a good reading level for your child, please check out the books on Amazon (link below) and use the look inside feature to have your child read a few pages. The rule of thumb for this class is that the student misses no more than 5 words per page. While we help students with unfamiliar words we also want them to find the right class.

We choose books we feel are appropriate for all students, however, we appreciate that everyone has different thoughts and values. Therefore, I encourage you to visit commonsense media or another outlet to ensure the books are appropriate for your child. If your child is enrolled in the class, that is your acceptance of the book for your student to read.

This is a multi-day class that meets 4 times a month. Each month we will read one book. We are big fans of the library and gently used books. However, we also realize we are busy and Amazon can be helpful so we provide the links to the books to be purchased through Amazon.

After finishing each book, students will be provided a book review sheet and comprehension questions with answers. These are an extension of the class and are not graded by us.

This class is taught by multiple teachers who are a part of Achieve Learning Partners. Please see the organization profile to learn more about each teacher. We are kind, encouraging, and patient teachers who love reading and sharing our passion for reading with students of all ages.

We are here for your student so please do not hesitate to contact us. We will provide feedback, comments, and/or suggestions for each student on a periodic or as needed basis.

Don't forget to check out the class reviews! When families enroll with us they stay with us.
