Description

Class Experience

During this class, students will learn about the practice of scientific sketching and how it is used by explorers and scientists to record and communicate information. 

We will discuss the purpose behind scientific sketching, learn the ABC's of practice (Accuracy, BIG, Colorful, Detailed, and Explain), and hone in on our observation skills.  During our session learners will have time to try out the skill with a group sketch using a common element from the natural world.

This class is taught in English.

Students will be able to explain the mission behind scientific sketching. 
Students will be use the ABC's of Scientific Sketching to help them remember the steps to the process.
Students will use this form of sketching to create a natural sketch using their observation skills.

There won't be any homework for this class, but I encourage students to continue practicing their scientific sketching!

Basic: 
-blank paper
-sharpened pencil
-coloring supplies (colored pencils, markers, crayons, etc.)

40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
