In this class students will learn about the practice of scientific sketching as a way to heighten observation skills and create visual notes.
Class experience
During this class, students will learn about the practice of scientific sketching and how it is used by explorers and scientists to record and communicate information. We will discuss the purpose behind scientific sketching, learn the ABC's of practice (Accuracy, BIG, Colorful, Detailed, and Explain), and hone in on our observation skills. Students will be able to explain the mission behind scientific sketching. Students will be use the ABC's of Scientific Sketching to help them remember the steps to the process. Students will use this form of sketching to create a natural sketch using their observation skills.
