Let's Play Some Overwatch!
Class experience
Students will play Overwatch 2 in this class and work through matches with their classmates. Video-games offer a wonderful way for students to socialize and have fun with their peers. As we play matches, we will talk to each other, plan strategies, and discuss Overwatch 2 in general, and other video-games. Overwatch 2 is available on Switch, Xbox, PS4, PS5, and Windows. Students must remain connected to Zoom while we play Overwatch 2. Some students may require two different devices to do...
-Develop learners' integrity as videogamers -Improve interpersonal skills -Develop critical thinking skills
I enjoy playing Overwatch 2 and work hard to avoid engaging in toxic gameplay behaviors.
Students must already have a copy of Overwatch 2 and have a Battle.net account made. (When you install Overwatch for the first time and boot it up, the game will walk you through this process. Without completing the in-game steps, your learner will not be able to play.)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Shooting/Violence: Overwatch 2 is a first-person shooting game. There may be some blood when a character is hit but it does not stain the ground and there is no gore. In-game character death: Student's in-game characters will die when killed by other players. Some learners might find this very upsetting. Internet Safety: Overwatch 2 is a game in which people can send you friend requests during or after matches. I require students to not accept or send friend requests to other classmates or random people we play against on the Internet. If a learner would like to friend request a student in class, the parents of both learners can message each other and agree to it. I cannot monitor student interactions outside of the Outschool classroom. Chat Safety: Students must deactivate their in-game voice chat and text chat while we play against other teams online. Sometimes there are random players who may say or write unkind things using the in-game voice or chat and by deactivating these features, we can avoid that. Battle.net account- Overwatch 2 requires players to create a Battle.net account in order to play
I am a fossil and language lover. I love talking about natural history just as much as I love to talk about languages. I believe we can learn a lot about our natural environment from fossils, just as much as we can learn about culture and history...
