Roblox Play Together Social In this group we will meet together to chat about and play Roblox. Roblox offers 100s of games and each week I will choose a game that we will play for the week. It may be something I love, something that I think would be a lot of fun for the group, or something another learner suggested. Learners are welcome to suggest games in the classroom chat, I will check it out, and if seems like an appropriate fit for class, we can try it! If the game offers the option, we will play on a privately created server (although this is not possible with all games). The activity and chat will be monitored by me to make sure everyone is having a positive experience. Sometimes 2 or 3 learners might want to play one game and another 2 or 3 might want to play another.. that is fine! We will all stay in the group together and chat while playing the games we want together. This is a great way to connect with others who love Roblox. Many of these games are more fun with more players. This will also be a great opportunity to discover new amazing games for everyone! Since this is an ongoing social class, there is not a “lesson plan” for each week. We will gather in the Zoom classroom to talk and play the game together. This will be great practice in social and group interactions. Students are not required to take previous classes. Feel free to pop in and out at any time! This is a very loosely structured, relaxed environment. However, there are a few rules we must all follow to make sure we all have a good experience. -No inappropriate language or topics (Keep it 100% family friendly) -No bullying, teasing, or harassing other players. (Remember there are people of all skill levels who play. Some may just be starting out; others might have been playing for months.) -Be kind and respectful to each other. **Please note that in order to join and play with the group the student must have a Roblox account and we will need to exchange Roblox gamertags in order to add each other as friends and join games together** If you have any questions send me a message! *All pictures are screenshots taken from my actual gameplay*

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Colin.
I love teaching! My wife and I have been homeschooling our own children for over 10 years. We have taught all grade levels from preschool to high school. I have been a teacher at homeschool co-op groups, a private tutor, and I even teach ESL (English as a Second Language) to foreign students around the world.
My classroom is fun and easy going. We laugh, joke, and play while learning. I think children learn best when they are engaged in the classroom. I found the best way to get them engaged is through fun and laughter. This way they are having a good experience and learning at the same time. If a student is enjoying class and looking forward to the next one, they are more likely to pay attention and remember the things they learned.
I enjoy teaching a wide variety of subjects. I teach the preschool basics (letters, colors, etc.), specialized categories such as animals, history, science, etc.
I love playing video games and enjoy talking about different games and even playing these games together!
I think the social interactions are just as important as the academic subjects, so in my social classes we will encourage conversation, participation, manners, etiquette, and fun!
