In this course, students will learn more advanced notes on the recorder while playing popular Disney tunes. This is a follow up course to the level 3 class. Students should feel comfortable playing a C major scale before taking this course.

Description

Class Experience

In this course students will expand their recorder skills by learning popular Disney songs on the recorder. Students will enjoy learning to play songs they recognize. Some of the new skills taught in this course will be playing sharps and flats as well as using the higher register on the recorder. 
Students will learn the following songs in this course: 
"Les Poisson" from "The Little Mermaid"
"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" from "Mary Poppins"
"Bella Note" from "Lady and the Tramp"

Students should practice outside of class for ten to twenty minutes per day. Part of this practice includes making a Flipgrid recording for evaluation.

  1 file available upon enrollmentStudents will need a good student quality soprano recorder with  Baroque fingerings. Please email me if you are unsure if your recorder is okay for this class. 
Students should also have something they can comfortable put on their wrist, such as a bracelet or hair band.
Students will need to purchase the book "Recorder Fun! Disney Tunes" by Hal Leonard to participate in this course. This book is available from many online retailers. This book includes a recorder and costs approximately $10 USD. A picture of the cover of the book is available on the welcome post.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Flipgrid

Students will record themselves playing so the instructor may assess how they are progressing. Students will use Flipgrid to make this recording.

1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.

We will use the songbook "Recorder Fun! Disney Tunes" by Hal Leonard for this course.
