Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
The primary goal is to establish a love of music and to build self-confidence through the mastery of performance pieces and knowledge of musical theory. Students will be playing simple songs starting from lesson one. Specific benchmarks for the first several lessons include; anatomy of the piano, proper posture and curvature of the hand, reading music notation, and developing technique and familiarity with the piano by learning and practicing scales and arpeggios.
I have been teaching piano, both in-person and online, for more than a decade. I have taught kindergarten through fifth grade music for a private school in Florida for the past 8 years. I also teach ukulele, recorder, and drums. I performed for many years with Blue Man Group in their New York, Chicago, Orlando, and Las Vegas shows.
Students should practice class pieces 3-4 days a week for 20- 30 minutes.
We use the Piano Pronto book series by Jennifer Eklund. Details for ordering lesson and theory books will be given after the first lesson, once the student's ability level has been assessed.
