Class Experience

In this 50-minute one-time class,  I am calling all racing champions.  Are you ready to bring your best Mario skills? You are invited to join a go-kart racing competition.  It's a race to see who is the fastest driver.  Learners will be able to socialize and make new friends in a safe gaming environment.  Gamers will discover new learning strategies such as how many laps you will need to win the race and what are the best items to use to get ahead of your opponent.  Are you the best racer in...

This class is taught in English.

Learners will participate in collaborative conversations about video game topics and gaming strategies with peers in a small group.  
Learners will prepare and participate in a range of conversation ideas and learn to express themselves clearly.

I understand that Mario Kart 8 can be challenging at times.  I will show learners how to be patient and demonstrate good sportsmanship with some positive words of encouragement.

Practice will help increase your chances of becoming a Mario Kart champion.

Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Oled 
A copy of Mario Kart 8 
A paid membership subscription to Nintendo Switch Online
Nintendo Switch AC Adapter (battery wall charger)

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Mario Party Superstars 
Nintendo Switch 
Nintendo Switch Online Membership

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Parental guidance is needed to set up the subscription to Nintendo Switch Online and Mario Kart 8.  The teacher will list the steps on how to find their "friend code" before the lesson starts.
