Class Experience

In this class we will talk all things Minecraft. We can share tips and tricks, experiences, what we like and don’t like, our accomplishments, and show off our builds.
All students who are enrolled in the class will have access to my own private Minecraft server where we can all play multiplayer survival Minecraft together.

**This class is for the JAVA edition of Minecraft on computer only.**
If you are looking for the BEDROCK edition of Minecraft which is available on Xbox, Playstation, Switch, and Mobile I offer a different class for that version. Bedrock edition will NOT work for this class.

We will play together during class time. Working together to gather resources, fight bosses, create epic builds, and more!
This is a survival only server (no creative mode). I have installed some cool plug ins with some cool features.
Players can claim a protected area of land which they can build and store their stuff. On this land, other players cannot build, break, or steal items.
There are warp signs that players can click to warp to cool different locations. There is a sethome command which will allow players to set a location to teleport to when they want.
PVP (Player versus Player – in game fighting) is allowed ONLY in the PVP arena which I made. This way player can feel safe knowing that they won’t be attacked by other players unless they choose to go in the PVP arena.
There are other cool features that we will explore together, and I am always looking to add and improve the server. I value learner feedback and suggestions on ways to improve the server!
Students can jump in at any time! You do not need to have participated in the previous classes to join this class.

To ensure everyone has a positive experience while playing there will be rules. (We may decide as a class to add additional rules as issues arise).
a.	The server is family friendly. No inappropriate language or content.
b.	No griefing! Do not steal other players items or destroy their creations.
c.	Respect! No bullying! We will all be friendly, fair, and respectful.
Failure to follow these rules will result in the player being temporarily removed from the server. Continued violations will result in a permanent ban from the server.

Students enrolled in the class will have access to the server during class time as long as they are currently enrolled in the class.

If students wish to join the server and play together, they must be using the JAVA Edition of Minecraft with the latest update on computer only. This server will not be accessible with other versions of Minecraft or on other consoles. Students must also have an internet connection to access the server.
The student will need to provide their Minecraft username to the teacher to allow access to the server. This name will only be visible to the teacher and other students in the class.
Each class will be played on the same server to continue our progress!

**JAVA EDITION ON COMPUTER ONLY**

Come on and join. Let’s talk and play Minecraft together!

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Common Sense Media recommends ages 7 and up for Minecraft due to fantasy violence. Students and the teacher will be playing on a Realm server hosted by me (the teacher). I will monitor the activity and interactions on this server. While Minecraft does have its own chat communication system, we will NOT be using this feature. We will only communicate through Outschool and Zoom during class times. We will not be sharing any personal information besides the student’s in game username. This is needed to allow the student to access the server. Only I (the teacher) and the other students enrolled in class will be able to see the username. As always, parents should monitor their children’s online activity.
Supply List
If the student wants to join the server and play together they will need:
- PC (will NOT work with consoles, phones, or iPads)
- Minecraft JAVA edition
- Internet connection

If the student wants to join to talk about Minecraft with others but NOT play on the server, the above is not necessary.
