Description
Class Experience
My learning goal for this class is to help students become better communicators, problem solvers, survivors and team players. Throughout each lesson, I aim to make my students flourish in their self-esteem by guiding them to act out what they think is best through working with other class members and NPCs within the game.
To assist students whose first language not be English, I hold a TEFL certificate. This means I can assist your learner to become better speakers of the language through varied communication techniques. These include and are not limited to; reading, writing, listening, pronunciation and simple English Grammar.
For this class, you will need to have purchased a copy of Minecraft (Java Edition). You'll need two devices: the first for the Zoom call (to talk) and one to play Minecraft (Java Edition). Zoom can be downloaded and used on smartphones (iOS/Android) or PC, and Minecraft (Java Edition) can be played on another device (Windows 10/11 PC or Mac). It's highly recommended to have the most recent installation of Minecraft (Java Edition) on your device. And you will all need a FREE Microsoft Account to play Minecraft online. Please visit https://account.microsoft.com/ for more details on how to sign up.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
A Microsoft account will be required to play Minecraft Online with other people. With the Microsoft account, there should be a "gamertag" which is a username. I do not need to know the gamertag name as I will provide a code that will allow the learner to join the server. Please do not share any gamertags in the classroom. Any problems please message me privately. Disruptive students who have been warned more than once will have their accounts temporarily suspended from the server until the next class. Nonetheless, it is not confined to unacceptable actions including foul language or harassing other students.
