Welcome to Minecraft INFUSE SMP, a class where learning meets adventure in the immersive world of Minecraft! In this exciting course, students will explore, create, and collaborate in a custom-built Survival Multiplayer (SMP) environment designed to foster creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork. In this game mode, players can acquire various positive and negative effects, or "infuses," that enhance or hinder their abilities in different ways. These effects can be obtained by consuming special items, defeating other players, or through random events. The Infuse SMP mode encourages players to strategize and adapt to new challenges as they explore, build, and interact with others in a dynamic and ever-changing environment. The teacher will guide students through a series of engaging challenges and projects that promote critical thinking, digital citizenship, and real-world skills. Each session will focus on a different aspect of the game, including: Below is an example of what you might expect to see in class: Week of February 19th: Mining for materials Week of February 26th: Finding a place to live Week of March 4th: Farming and resource management Week of March 11th: Going out to hunt others Throughout the course, students will work together in a safe and supportive environment, learning to communicate effectively, collaborate on projects, and make lasting friendships. Minecraft Infused SMP is the perfect blend of education and entertainment, providing a one-of-a-kind learning experience that your learner will love! Join us on this unforgettable journey, where the only limit is their imagination. Enroll today and let the adventure begin! Please note: At the start of the class, I will provide the students with the server information that will enable them to access the private server. Please note that the first 5 minutes or less will be used to set up the game for new students who have enrolled on the course. Basic knowledge of Minecraft is needed to play with other students. If you come across any problems or queries (even before you have enrolled) please let me know before any session begins and I will do my utmost to help you. Understandingly, under the circumstances that you are incapable of participating because of little preparation, I will not be able to provide a refund. Thank you.
Learning Goals
My learning goal for this class is to help students become better communicators, problem solvers, survivors and team players. Throughout each lesson, I aim to make my students flourish in their self-esteem by guiding them to act out what they think is best through working with other class members and NPCs within the game.
Other Details
Parental Guidance
A Microsoft account will be required to play Minecraft Online with other people. With the Microsoft account, there should be a "gamertag" which is a username. I do not need to know the gamertag name as I will provide a code that will allow the learner to join the server. Please do not share any gamertags in the classroom. Any problems please message me privately.
Disruptive students who have been warned more than once will have their accounts temporarily suspended from the server until the next class. Nonetheless, it is not confined to unacceptable actions including foul language or harassing other students.
