Parental Guidance
Welcome Parents! As a lifelong gamer, I can attest that video games contribute to growth in problem-solving skills, social-emotional growth, and self-confidence. I will be hosting Wild Rift matches for aspiring and veteran Summoners. ABOUT LOL: WILD RIFT: Wild Rift is a free-to-play game by Riot Games that can be played on mobile devices (IOS and Android). The game does contain micro-transactions but they are not required and I do not encourage them. Wild Rift is a multiplayer online game. The goal of the game is to work together in up to 5 player teams to battle rival summoners and defeat their nexus, located at the far end of the map. The team that reaches the other team's nexus wins the match. Players accomplish these tasks all while playing as Summoners, a wide array of characters with a range of different skills. Wild Rift is the mobile version of the popular PC game League of Legends. Wild Rift is rated Teen in the Google Play Store. PLAYER ACCOUNTS: A Riot, Google, or Apple account is required to play the game. Riot, Apple, and Google accounts are free of charge. They do not require a subscription. GAMERTAGS: This game requires a Gamertag and will show a Gamertag when joining an online match. Please advise your learner to share their Gamertags in private messages ONLY. Please do not share personal information on the classroom page. ONLINE MATCHES: It may be required that I add your learner to my friends list in order to place them in a match. As the match owner, I will also be required to actively play. Since this is the case, there are a few guidelines that I set in place in order to comply with Outschool's Safety Policy: 1. Once your learner leaves the class, they are removed from my friends list. 2. We absolutely do not play outside of class time. 3. All communications stay on Outschool. 4. Any friend requests between learners is encouraged after obtaining adult permission. I will be actively monitoring the discussion to ensure everyone is being courteous and using school-appropriate language and modeling sportsmanship while playing. EMERGENCIES: Despite our best efforts, emergencies do happen and can result in changes to the class schedule. I always plan to have my classes as they are scheduled. In the event that I have an emergency (loss of power/internet), I ask that learners log into the Zoom meeting and remain in the meeting for 10 minutes so that Outschool can mark their attendance. There is a one-week gap between my classes for the purpose of adding make-up sessions during the same time. In the event that your learner cannot attend a class, please reach out so I can plan accordingly. Recordings of the meetings will be shared with the classroom. Learners are expected to watch the video lessons for the classes they miss. PAYMENT OPTIONS: This class offers both Upfront payments and Weekly payments. The Upfront price is $60, which is $15 a lesson. The Weekly price is $75 total, which is $18.75 a week (the current Outschool recommended rate for enrichment classes). REFUND FUND POLICY: This class has a standard refund policy: "Refund within 24 hours of payment until your next meeting or lesson access begins."

I am an avid gamer. I have played League of Legends since it was released and I have played Wild Rift since its released as well. I grew up playing on every console Nintendo has released with the exception of the Game Cube and WiiU. Multiplayer gaming is very fun and can be a safe place to make new friends and build life skills.
