Description
Class Experience
Students will improve their understanding of chess and become better chess players.
I am a science and math teacher who has been playing and enjoying chess for over thirty years. I see chess as an excellent way to get students thinking about problem-solving and spatial relationships as well as to grow as people.
Students will improve faster if they play chess and analyze games on their own between classes, but there is no required homework.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
