Description
Class Experience
By being apart of this social club, your child will be able to enhance their: - Social skills: Students can create friendships with others who like the same game and have opportunities throughout the class to let their voices be heard. - Exposure to diversity: The class will consist of conversations with people with different backgrounds. They will also talk about different animals that each person might have in their game. - Critical thinking skills: Students will be asked to think about how to solve certain in-game challenges, and be able to share them with others.
I'm a huge fan of Animal Crossing, and have been playing the game since I was a young child when the first one came out! Having played all of the games, I'm able to facilitate the conversation the students might have about the game which ever way it might go.
Nintendo Switch, Animal Crossing New Horizons, Nintendo Online membership, Good internet connection (The game can be finnicky)
55 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
Learners might want to add each other as friends on the Nintendo Switch. This will allow them to chat with one another via the game. Parents might want to ensure their learner has permission to do so prior to the class. I will always remind students to get permission, and learners might check in with parents to see if they have permission during class time.
