Let's Perform a Play: The Billy Goats Gruff and the Troll
In this one time creative theatre class students will hear a story then engage their imaginations, voices and bodies as they choose characters, add to the story and work together to perform the story as a play.

We will start our class with playful introductions and warm-ups for our bodies, voices and imaginations based on student suggestions. Next, I will tell our story (The Billy Goats Gruff) including two options for how the story ends. Students will choose the character(s) they wish to play, and we will learn our lines and practice acting out the story. Students will be encouraged to personalize their lines and characters, and to add their own unique details to the story and the ending. Then...
Students will: 1. Use their bodies, faces and voices to express themselves and their unique ideas as characters in a story. 2. Work collaboratively with classmates as they play, explore and bring the story to life. 3. Design a costume through drawing or gathering dress up pieces they may have at home.
Please have some paper and something to draw with (pencils, markers or crayons). Dress up clothes to be a goat or a troll are OPTIONAL.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
