2 in-class hoursClass Experience
Each week for 4-weeks, we will explore a new technique in painting using different tools. Learners will be encouraged to learn through play. This will help their development, understanding, and creativity in painting. Using a second camera, I will demonstrate that week's technique and have my learners follow along to the best of their ability. They are also encouraged to step outside my instruction a bit and make it their own unique piece of work. Week-by week breakdown: Week 1: Mixing Colors- Finger painting. This first week, we will talk about primary and secondary colors by mixing our paints together and creating a unique fingerpainting. Week 2: Shapes- Paint brush Our second week, we will have a treasure hunt to find interesting shapes around our homes to use as inspiration as we paint. Week 3: Texture- Sponges, brushes (optional: other found objects. For example, bubble wrap, tin foil, cotton balls, etc) Our third week, we will discuss texture and explore how to make different textures using sponges and brushes. My name is Tessa DeForge. I live in the beautiful state of Vermont with my husband, 2 silly dogs and 2 precocious cats. I graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2011 and hold a bachelor's in Art Education.
I am very passionate about education. I have taught in a traditional setting for 10 years as a 6-12 art teacher and as an early educator. I love to teach a multitude of things through art and play. Some of the classes I offer are: Art Social Group, Crochet Club, 1;1 Knitting and Crochet classes, as well as social groups, to name a few. I am always looking to expand on my class list.
