In this class, learners will paint a Cardinal by a street light with no experience necessary! This is a beginner-friendly class, so you do not have to know how to paint to complete this awesome painting. We will start with ice breakers then transition into painting. Students will paint along with me while learning basic fundamentals and other painting techniques that they can carry with them even after this class and re-create on their own. While painting, we will also discuss and learn fun facts about Cardinals. In addition to the class being taught in an aesthetically pleasing art studio area, learners can expect a fun and energetic learning environment. By the end of class they will have created a wonderful masterpiece. Day 1 - Focusing on blending the background and texture - Adding tree and first layer of details - Adding highlights and snow - Tracing the street light Day 2 - Review techniques used in previous class - Fine tune details on tree - Painting the street light - Adding the Cardinal - Creating street name - Answer questions for clarifications each learner may need
Learning Goals
Students will learn painting techniques to blend, create value, shadows, and perception. Students will also learn how to create simple shapes that transform to realistic looking objects.

Supply List
CANVAS. This class time is allotted for an 11x14 canvas size. Feel free to use canvas paper, watercolor paper, or cardboard. ACRYLIC PAINT. 6 Colors needed are : White, Black, Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow. BRUSHES: 1" Flat Brush, Medium size "pointed" brush, and a small detail brush. Keep in mind, you do not have to get brushes with these exact measurements. A big, medium "pointed", and small brush will work perfectly fine. White paper plate for paint palette Water Cup Napkins Blow dryer Apron (optional)
