Beginner Level
This class session will focus on the meaning behind the process of multiplication. We will read a story, practice solving with equal groups, and introduce the concept of arrays. Students will have multiple opportunities to apply these skills with sample problems. At the conclusion, optional homework will be assigned to determine mastery of the skills taught. Feedback will be given if the assignment is turned in.

This lesson lays the groundwork for students to understand the meaning of what it means to multiply. We will read a story, learn about equal groups and arrays, and practice multiplying. There will be one assignment so students can practice applying what they learned, if desired. 13 mins of video lessons

Supply List
Students may wish to have paper/pencil to solve problems. Students may want to use small counters to solve some problems. These could include coins, small blocks, paper squares, cereal pieces, etc. They will need about 20 pieces. A worksheet will be provided as homework practice. (Optional)
