Class Experience

Who doesn't love soft pretzels! These tasty treats are so good when made fresh! In this fun, interactive class, students will follow an easy recipe to make soft pretzels. Students will make the dough along with the instructor. This is an open discussion style class, so students can ask questions as we proceed. We will discuss measurement as well as the effect of each ingredient in the recipe. Students will learn how to create the famous pretzel shape, but can also make the pretzels in any...

No homework.

1 1/2 cups warm water
1 packet active dry yeast or instant yeast
1 tsp salt
1 tbs brown sugar or granulated sugar
1 tbs unsalted butter, melted and slightly cool
3 3/4 to 4 cups all-purpose flour 
coarse sea salt 
bowls
whisk
wooden spoon or mixer with dough hooks
parchment paper or silicone baking mat
knife or pizza cutter

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

Parental guidance is recommended as student will be working with ingredients which could have allergens. The students will be operating a mixer, an oven, using a knife or pizza cutter.
