In this one time class, students will make their own castanets and end the session with a play along!
Class experience
Join me in making your very own penny castanets! We will use chipboard, cardstock or other paper, markers, glue, washi tape, googly eyes, and anything else you can imagine to make castanets that you can rock out with while you dance the days away. After we all make our drums, we will play a rhythm game and play away the blues in a play along song. No experience is required, but parental supervision can be helpful. My teaching style is fun and encouraging, and my goal is to have your child...
Students will learn what a castanet is and it's history as a musical instrument. They will make their own castanets. They will explore the macro and micro beat of music.
