In this one-time course, students will learn to cut out simple paper shapes with scissors, to create greeting cards for family & friends. I will demonstrate folding and scissor cutting techniques to create simple shapes, such as hearts, stars & diamonds. Students can incorporate these cuttings to make a flat or pop up greeting card. I strive to keep lessons fun and interactive. After my brief project demo, students are encouraged to ask questions and show their art work, as we create a card together. My project example is merely an example of the numerous artistic creations possible. Students are encouraged to expand upon their own knowledge to create something beautiful. Students may continue to add on to their projects after class is over. No previous knowledge required but it is helpful to know how to hold and cut with scissors before the class.

Parental Guidance
Families, because this activity requires scissors, adults must be present during the lesson but can remain off camera. If your child needs help when using scissors, please provide hands-on assistance and monitoring for safety. It is preferable to provide safety or "child" scissors, the ones with the blunt ends, instead of sharp points. Thank you.
