Let's Make Paper Dolls! Ongoing Fashion and Paper Doll Club - Drawing, and Craft
What's included
1 live meeting
55 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
This ongoing paper doll design club. Each week we talk about fashion themes and then respond by making our own paper doll through step by step instruction, along with fashion designs and accessories. Learners will create their own paper doll/fashion cut out, design a new fashion outfit each week for their cut out. We will explore and discuss fashion styles with a short discussion at the beginning of our class, with slides and great visual examples. Through step by step instruction we will draw a new doll each week -- different poses, ages and styles. Learners will work on their drawing and watercolor/coloring techniques. This ongoing class is mixed media, using collage techniques with paper, material or scraps of paper. Learners are encouraged to think outside of the box and explore new ways of making their ideas come to life. Materials used in each class each week: Paper (watercolor paper or cardstock works best but we use what we have ) scissors pencil and eraser something to color with ( paint, markers, colored pencils etc) tape (occasionally we use this) gluestick (occasionally we use this) Each week we explore a different theme and technique. The class themes are based on learner requests -- they will always include creating a paper doll. Theme examples: THEMES by week October 1 - art museum October 8th - Dessert October 15th -Food truck October 22nd - Outer space October 29th - Dress up party November 5th - Waterpark/ amusement park November 12th - Golf Course November 19th - Ski Lodge November 26 - Snow globe As a teacher who was once was (maybe still feels like) a eight year old who loved paper dolls, I can attest to how a simple idea like Paper Dolls can spur on the most amazing transformation in problem solving, creating and exploring a world beyond the 'box.' I look forward to this ongoing class, and hope to see some of my past learners join in :) Teacher Char
