Class Experience

This class explores different games and activities to make learning math fun.

There is a series of 6 interactive games and activities that we will play in class to help with math lessons learned in Kindergarten-2nd grade. We will start class by reviewing what math skills we are working with that day. Skills may be new to the students, which is perfectly fine since we will be doing a review of that skill before any games are played. Skills include adding, subtracting, counting money, and word problems. The games we will play use a variety of media such as papers (that will be sent to students prior to the class for printing), whiteboards, and screen sharing from the teacher's computer screen.

Games we will play are rolling a digital dice, picking a card from a deck, spinning a digital wheel, math fact flowers, a piggy bank game , and math bingo.

Each session will be scheduled for 6 times to utilize all 6 games. If students would like to continue the session, new sign up will be required.

No prior experience required, however some knowledge of adding, subtracting, and counting money is always helpful. Also being able to write numbers are a plus. Students will be required to fill in bingo cards with numbers.

Learning Goals

The student will have skills necessary to add, subtract, and count money.
