50 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one-time basic kitchen class, students will learn how to make a simple Halloween lunch as well as assemble a cute dessert. In a fall theme, we will make hot dog mummies with packaged crescent rolls and hot dogs. Student will learn the basic assembly of the lunch, safe oven usage and have a delicious lunch they can be proud to have created! There may even be enough mummies for the rest of the family! While the mummies are baking, we will assemble adorable dessert donut spiders so our lunch is complete!
Learning Goals
Students with limited kitchen experience will be able to make a basic lunch with little adult assistance, creating a feeling of independence in the kitchen. This lunch even includes a simple dessert!

Parental Guidance
If your child is quite inexperienced in the kitchen or a younger learner, you will want to assist with setting the oven temperature, inserting and removing the cookie sheet from the oven, and helping with knife usage. Feel free to choose the level of independence you would like your learner to experience.
Supply List
One package refrigerated crescent rolls, brand name preferred, one package of hot dogs of any brand, ketchup/mustard, mini chocolate cake donuts, mini twisted pretzels 🥨, a few plain M&M candies for eyes, parchment paper, baking sheet, knife, chocolate chips and a small bowl. Please compare this list of supplies and ingredients to any allergens your learner may have to see if this class is a good fit. Thanks!
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
